The Field is an ongoing body of work that I have been exploring for the last few years. At its inception, I was living in Topanga, a mountain town just above the sprawl of Los Angeles. Topanga used to serve as a place for open-minded characters who threw together rustic cottages of glass, wood and stone; an artists’ refuge submerged in nature. When photographing friends in the field near my home, I was inspired by the changes I observed in them. It is a simple field of tall grasses and yellow mustard flowers, a large tree at the top surrounded by a maze of interlocking greens. Words by Photographer, Tristan Hollingsworth.
